Tree Plantation - helping hand.

Planting trees is a great effort done towards the environment. It helps the environment to go greener, better n more pure. But how many of us do really do things like plantation for the betterment of the environment?
Mother nature has cared for us a lot and in return we have just given it DESTRUCTION for our blind effort to reach maximum development. Deforestation, pollution to the AIR, WATER SOIL has become a common thing in all places. Very soon will a time arrive when the colour of earth will turn to BLACK and GREY from BLUE and GREEN.

Plantation is done by nature in many ways. We, the humans are supposed to be the most intelligent creations of god, but still do we act accordingly?

Animals living in the jungle accidently bring about many plantations giving rise to numerous trees. Squirrels, the medium sized rodents, have nuts as their food as they cannot survive on cellulose food sources such as PLANTS. Inorder to save their food, many a times, these squirrels hide in their food underground, and sometimes forget about it which finally results in growth of a new plant. So accidently they plant trees. Its not only the case with squirrels, but also some birds that line on fruits, disperse the seeds of the fruits in the area around while consuming it. May all these activities be accidental, but still these activities move in a direction beneficial for the environment. Then why we, the social intelligent animals do activities beneficial for the mother earth?

We being so civilised, don’t need accidents to carry out such activities. Instead we can carry out ECO-FRIENDLY things to bring about a change in the present scenario that makes the conditions of mother earth better. Planting trees is not just enough, taking care for them is equally important. And by doing so we will not only make MOTHER EARTH greener but make it a place worth living in the FUTURE……

Fishes - aquatic life in danger......

Over the years the demand for SEA food has risen to a great extent, as the population has risen. This has finally led to an increase in fishing activities thus depleting the fishes in high amounts. Our activities have not only caused problems as over-fishing but they have also led to the increase in water temperatures, eutrophication which basically occurs due to the increased introduction of chemicals into the water environment. Eutrophication causes the PHYTOPLANTONS to grow and accumulate on the water surface thus blocking the light entering and it also depletes the oxygen content in the water body.

Due to the release of chemicals the water temperature has increased thus making the environment warmer and unsuitable for the aquatic animals to live in. Many dye industries, chemical industries dump in their untreated effluents in the water bodies. The most recent example is the GANESH VISARJAN program that was carried out @ sea interfaces like JUHU, etc. Ganesha idols being made of POP, when immersed in water release great amounts of heat thus heating up the aquatic environment. This increased heat is intolerable to the aquatic animals and they finally start migrating towards the interiors of the water bodies.(instead of POP idols normal eco friendly mud idols can be used).

Not only this but recently two major OIL-SPILLS were in newspapers, people all over were busy discussing about the grand ships that were stationed @ the beach but no one was considerate enough to find out the damage done to the aquatic life. Everywhere there were discussion about the no. of days for which the sea food is to be avoided due to the spills, but no one discussed about the threat caused to the aquatic animals.

Fishes are a rich source for proteins and there r many other products made from these fishes, and with the increasing demand and increasing population load the fishing activity too has extended to a proportion unsafe for the aquatic life.
Its now time that we release that r selfish activities are not only risking r future in the dark but also is pulling other innocent creatures into it, with this consumption speed very soon there will be a time when AQUATIC LIFE WILL BE A CHAPTER IN HISTORY BOOKS…….

Rain Water Harvesting

When it rains it feels very pleasing to some whereas for some its just a non-sense, but whatever it is all need water for their SURVIVAL n daily cores. When it rains some think of getting wet n enjoying the rain, some think of getting themselves a shelter to refrain but is there anyone who just gives RAIN WATER HARVESTING a thought????????
At times of heat these poor little birds die off due to excessive heat. How many of us have actually tried giving them WATER BOWLS???? Water shortage problem are not only with birds but also with animals. Due to the human activities the temp. all along has risen to such a great extent that now interiors of many jungles dry out causing great water crisis in these areas. Many of the migrating animals are not able to complete their journeys just due to the vast stretch dry lands, eventually die in their journeys.
Water harvesting projects are not actually going to solve 100% water related problems but it will atleast make us draw less water from water bodies, so that it can remain a resource for all. Others living out there.
Water harvesting projects can be carried out in places like open gardens, building terrace, etc…
Rain water that we receive is very pure and can be used for all our daily chores. If not that it can be atleast stored and used for watering plants throughout the year so that they don’t face dry seasons.
Its now important that we start thinking for the ENVIRONMENT in every little act of our’s so that we are able to PRESERVE it n its beauty for the FUTURE……
